So what would you guys recommend? Can I take off the TPS and check it's functionality or should I just replace it? I'm not sure if these are even the problems, just the closest I could find to what I was feeling. I always leave the shift times stock on the 4L60E/4L70E. If you what firmer shifts, use 50 psi at the 640 ft lb column and 30 psi for softer shifts. Also change the Max Pressure to 96, as it usually is 90 stock. 1-2 shift is delayed and harsh, may not shift into OD: Check TPS for smooth and linear electrical response over the entire range of motion. The editor should clamp the max pressure to 96 psi. Also, if the accumulator housing walls are scored, the housing must be replaced. Check the yellow spring inside the accum housing for breakage.

1-2 Shift shudder at WOT delayed or abnormal 1-2 shift There's a problem ONLY on the 1-2 shift: 1-2 accumulator piston cracked or stuck cocked in the bore. Worst case: poor line pressure rise (see below).ģ. Doublecheck by using the pressure gauge and watch for a big drop when the PCM commands 2nd gear. Middle case: leak in the 2nd gear apply circuit (servo assembly or 1-2 accumulator). 1-2 shift does not happen at WOT until you let off the gas: Best case: try replacing the TPS. I have noticed it shift from 3-2 before, and on occasion it has shifted from 1-2 after crusing along at about 20 mph for almost a full minute in 1st, but in general it is completely resisting shifting from 1-2. Last night I tried a little WOT in 1st gear and once I hit redline (around 6k at 55) the engine just continued to stay at redline it would not shift into 2nd. If I'm leaving my neighborhood at light throttle, it revs up to 3-4k before shifting into 3rd at around 30-35 mph.

This problem has been going on for maybe 2 months, but I drive my truck so rarely that I never had much time to troubleshoot it or figure out the symptoms. Been busy with 2 jobs and school, but since I'm on Christmas break I'm trying to figure out this transmission issue before I go back for the spring semester.
